Mari is a nurse with more than 30 years of experience. She was born in Africa and has experienced scarce resources. Overcoming different challenges by thinking up creative solutions, is a way to survive.
She grew up on a farm with a sustainable lifestyle. Her child with food allergies required her to use simple ingredients. Processed foods caused all sorts of illnesses. Circumstances taught Mari to make fast and tasty meals with minimum resources; at times to survive without a kitchen, without a fridge, with very basic equipment and little money. She has taught others how to stay healthy and keep their energy up, all her life, at work and in social life. The empowerment to know you can survive and thrive even in natural disasters or in times of scarcity are shared by someone who has done it.Marieke worked where one in four working men were infected with the HIV virus.
