Why on Earth would we make toilet paper?
FIFTYEIGHT PRODUCTS is known for cute porcelain products with smiling faces, so this product actually started as a joke: When the pandemic first hit and toilet paper started to become scarce, we made a social media post with our own toilet paper featuring our TASSEN characters.
But things soon became serious when fans began demanding the toilet paper 'in real life'. So we produced the printed toilet paper and sold it in Europe exclusively at retail stores to bring customers into stationary retail. This worked well and generated a lot of excitement for our retailers and our products.
Now the printed TASSEN toilet paper is available in the USA. Maybe keep it on the shelf as a reminder of an unpredictable year in which we didn't lose our humor and optimism. Or use it – totally up to you…
